This systems and network engineering student is called Esmée Kramer and has recorded a video showing what she has spent her free time in the last year: creating a mechanical dinosaur costume. With a little imagination almost, almost, that seems "really."

The result is tremendously realistic, and I am sure that even Spielberg or Jim Henson would be proud. Especially considering that the velociraptor is made of cheap and lightweight PVC pipes, cardboard, elastic ropes such as climbing and American tape, something that is never missing.

The notebooks with the original sketches, which can be seen at the end of the video give an idea of the laborious process, which has surely included many hours of trial and error. The only problem that does not seem to have a solution in this almost perfect costume is the articulation of the knees of the hind legs (tsk!) But in short it is a combination of great mechanical and artistic work that only lacks a layer of outer material and something that allows the puppeteer to see what happens outside the costume.
