Being in WhatsApp groups with names like child pornography can get you banned from the platform

Everything related to child pornography is very persecuted by the great technology, and on Facebook and WhatsApp in particular it is not for less.

This is demonstrated by several cases in Asturias reported by El Comercio, where the messaging platform has banned 250 people for participating in a group whose name was changed from 'Economy 1' to 'Child Pornography'.

Everything was, supposedly, a joke worn by a teammate to which his 160 participants had joined to exchange notes on the Economics course at the University of Oviedo. When seeing the problematic change of name, one of the participants denounced it, just when another was going to change it to return to the group the original denomination.

The problem for the students was that once the support was notified, the phones of the 160 participants were banned from WhatsApp. After trying to fix it by talking with the support of the platform they do not give them a solution because they consider that they have violated the rules. Apparently, the behavior of changing the name in WhatsApp groups for these terms has become a kind of viral joke, which has also affected 90 medical students of that center.
