Death Stranding and humor Made in Kojima

Death Stranding

Despite the apocalyptic future that presents us, not to mention the relationship between the living and the dead, Death Stranding will also include some strokes of humor, something characteristic of Hideo Kojima's work since the beginning of his career.

Who doesn't remember what happened to the wolves and the cardboard box in Metal Gear Solid? Raiden running in leather at the end of MGS 2? And Raiden's "time travel" in the MGS 3: Subsistence extras?

We have barely been able to see a thousandth of what Death Stranding will offer, but Kojima has already given us some pearls in the successive trailers and demonstrations of his next game. These are some of our favorite comic moments ...

When there is desire ... there is desire

The realism of Death Stranding is not limited only to the wear of Sam's boots or the spectacular orography of the stages. Like any human being, our hero also feels "the call of nature" and must empty his bladder when he touches.

He is not the first character who does it in a video game (we all remember Conker, Rare's squirrel), but Kojima and his team have turned urination into a team effort: if several players pee at the same point, they will receive a amazing reward: a mushroom that, according to the great Hideo, could play an important role in the game.

What are you looking at?

In the last demo of the Tokyo Game Show they showed us what happens when the player keeps looking and zooming in on Sam's crotch (Norman Reedus) when he is resting in his shelter.

It is not the first time that Hideo Kojima gives the player the opportunity to fix his eyes on the underside of a character (in MGS 2 he passed with one of the hostages), but here the shyness of the observed becomes violence. And deserved, too.

Making the cinnamon in front of the mirror

In the same demo we could see how it will be possible to interact with certain elements of Sam's room. For example, putting faces in front of the mirror. The destiny of humanity is in our hands, but let the hand that has not done something similar almost every morning raise its hand.

Interacting with BABY

The baby that accompanies Sam in his odyssey not only serves as a catalyst between the world of the living and that of the dead (warning us of the proximity of the EVs).

We can also interact with him, cradling him to calm down, bathing with him in the hot springs or even making monkeys inside the shelter.

This guy sounds to me ...

The demo presented during the last Gamescom included the cameo of someone very familiar. Everyone knows the great friendship that unites Hideo Kojima with Geoff Keigley, the creator of the Game Awards. What few expected was to find the latter in Death Stranding, playing a guy called "Ludens Fan" (in honor of the mascot of Kojima Productions). If this is not love ...

We are sure that Death Stranding will offer us more amazing moments like this, and we cannot wait to see some cameo from Kojima himself. Let's not forget that he already made a few in the successive installments of Metal Gear Solid, so we are almost certain that we will see him in front of Sam in the form of a hologram.
