How to display the taskbar on all Windows 11 screens

Many Windows 11 computer owners and users use more than one display or monitor. This allows us to improve productivity, especially in multitasking, since it allows us to perform several tasks at the same time, showing one on one screen and the other on the second screen.

It should be noted that Windows 11 offers multiple configurations, among which the possibility of showing the task bar only on the main monitor / screen or on the contrary also showing the task bar on all the monitors connected to your computer stands out.

As usual, Windows 11 allows the customization of many of the interface elements and functions of the Microsoft operating system. One of the most prominent and popular customizations are those that have to do with the taskbar since it allows us to improve the user experience, as well as productivity.

The Windows 11 taskbar allows us to quickly and directly access many of the programs, apps, folders on our computer. You will also have direct access to various settings such as network settings, bluetooth, etc.

That is why it is important for many users to have the Windows 11 taskbar on all the monitors connected and used on our computer. In this way, when we want to maximize any window or access any program / configuration, we will not have to go to the main monitor since we can do it from the same monitor where we have the mouse cursor.

Next, in this tutorial we will show you how to activate and display the Windows 11 taskbar on all screens and monitors connected to your computer:

How to display the Windows taskbar on all screens using settings

1. Use the keyboard shortcut: Windows key + I

2. When the configuration opens you will have to go to: Personalization> Taskbar.

3. You will be sent to a new screen with more options from which you will have to select the option: Behavior of the taskbar.

4. This will make more adjustment sub-options appear in which we will have to make sure to check: Show Taskbar on all screens.

5. After checking this option, the Windows 11 taskbar will be displayed automatically on all the screens connected to your computer, however, you can still configure the option: When using multiple screens, show my applications from the taskbar on.

6. Here you can choose between these three settings:

  • All task bars.
  • Taskbar and main taskbar where the window opens.
  • Taskbar where the window opens

How to display the Windows 11 taskbar on multiple monitors using Registry Editor

1. Open the Run tool using the keyboard shortcut: Windows key + R

2. When the Run window opens, enter the command: regedit

3. After pressing Enter, the Windows 11 Registry Editor will open.

4. When the Registry Editor opens, you will have to go to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Advanced

5. Once here you have to right-click on Advanced

6. In the context menu you will have to go to: New> DWORD Value (32 bits).

7. Rename this element as: MMTaskbarEnabled

8. Now you will have to double left click with the mouse on the created element: MMTaskbarEnabled

9. In the small window shown, specifically in the Value information field, you will have to set the number: 1

10. Finally, to save the changes you will have to click on the button: Accept

11. Right now you just have to close the Registry Editor and restart your computer.

12. When you have restarted your computer with Windows 11, if you want to configure the apps that are shown in the taskbars of several monitors, reopen the Registry Editor and specifically to the same key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Advanced

13. However, if you want to change the behavior of the applications icon, you must create another DWORD value in the Advanced key. To do this you will have to right click on Advanced> New> DWORD Value (32 bits) and name it as MMTaskbarMode

14. Left double click on it and set the value data in any of the following ways:

  • Show taskbar buttons on all taskbars: 0
  • Show the taskbar buttons on the main taskbar and the taskbar where the window is open: 1
  • Show taskbar buttons on the taskbar where the window is open: 2

15. Save the changes by clicking the OK button and you're done.

16. Restart your computer and enjoy the new settings.
