You have to tame the horse to continue. In essence, this translates to using Reassure until you start slapping (L2 + square on PS4). Then you will take it out of the barn and the last phase of the mission will begin.
How could it be otherwise, you will have to flee with the Braithwaite behind you, now you have to get 5 shots to the head for the goal of the medal that you lack. In general it will not give you problems, but remember to use the Dead Eye and a rifle to make it easier.
