How to look for stickers on WhatsApp

This search engine made its fleeting appearance in the beta of WhatsApp of December 2018, but it worked a little bad because the button of the magnifying glass disappeared as soon as you were careless.

Now the search comes officially to WhatsApp stickers, at least to the beta version, which always receives news a few weeks before the official one. It arrives just in time, because the packages of stickers do not stop growing and each time it is more complicated to find the one you are looking for.

If you can not find it, look for it. Search in Three Steps

The search for stickers on WhatsApp does not have much science, since it works in the same way as the existing search for emojis and animated GIFs: by touching the magnifying glass icon. All this once you're in the stickers section, of course. Even today this magnifying glass seems somewhat elusive and sometimes keeps disappearing. If this is your case, one way to make it come back is to send a pre-installed stickers (for example, the coffee cup), touch it and choose to see more.

After touching the magnifying glass icon, you can search for stickers using text, by typing in the search bar. Emojis are not allowed in the search, although the system is prepared to show results in several languages.

The truth is that the search for stickers works on WhatsApp a bit like the stickers themselves, that is, regular. It only seems to take into account stickers pre-installed, and simple searches such as "dog" only yields one result, while there are several whole packages where a dog is the protagonist.

If you use a lot of stickers in WhatsApp, remember that you now have four ways to access the ones that interest you most without having to search for them among all the packages you have installed. They are the following:

  • From the recent tab. Here are the last stickers you have sent.
  • From the favorites. With a long touch, you can add stickers to favorites, leaving it always at hand.
  • According to the mood. This section allows you to filter stickers according to four moods: happy, heart, sad and amazed.
  • With the search. The last to arrive. If you have no idea where the sticker is that you are looking for, try looking for a detail of it that you remember.

This search for stickers is being activated in version 2.19.18 beta of WhatsApp for Android, which you can download from Google Play. At the moment it does not work too well, so do not be in a hurry to try it. Hopefully it will improve before you get to the stable version.
