You may not always like to see your recycle bin on your computer, so the solution is to know how to remove it from the desktop
If you have a computer with a Windows system, you will know that by default, the recycle bin is always on the desktop, so if you do not want to have to see it every day having that prominent position, it will be good to follow this step guide in which , in an easy way, we explain how to remove the trashcan from the desktop.
The recycling bin has a very specific function, which consists of storing all the files and documents that no longer serve us or do not want to have on the desk or in one of our folders. So when you want to eliminate them in a definitive way you just have to empty your recycling bin, which on the other hand is not something that we do constantly so if it bothers you that it is present on your desktop and you want to remove it from this location, so just follow the steps below, we indicate.
Steps to remove the trash from the desktop
- First, let's create a link. In this way, we can then place a shortcut to get to the Recycle Bin in the Start menu or in any other position we prefer. To do this, you have to "right click" on the Trash icon and select the "Create direct access" option.
- Now that you change the name of the access and call it for example "Trash", without more.
- Now we move on to the removal of the icon from the Windows Desktop Trash. Right-click on an empty spot on the desktop and select the last option of all that says "Customize."
- In the screen that opens, you must go to the column on the left and click on "Themes".
- Now you move to the right section and enter the option "Desktop Icon Settings".
- In the window that will open, uncheck the box corresponding to the "Recycle Bin", confirm with "OK" and you will see how the recycle bin has disappeared from the desktop (however, the shortcut you created earlier still there).
- Now it's time to move the shortcut to the previously created Recycle Bin to a more appropriate area, such as the Start menu.
- Open the Start menu and select the trash can icon. Move it to any position with a simple click and drag
- If you do not like the idea of having the icon in the Trash immediately visible in the Start menu, an alternative idea is to make the resource "possible" with the search. Later, when searching in Start, we will immediately find the shortcut to open the Recycle Bin.
- To achieve this goal, simply press the Win + R keyboard combination to call Run and then indicate this path: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
- Move the link to the Trash there, wait a few moments and go.
