How was the G20 secret spies drones hackers and terrorist alerts

Two years ago, the secret services of the countries that would participate in this international meeting, together with around 54 specific surveillance agencies of other nations, studied the potential dangers for their own interests.

They were transferred to the Federal Intelligence Agency (AFI) and the Ministry of Security of the Nation.

Several of the alerts generated by foreign agents had concrete results. Others were false alarms. Due to the G20, there are arrested by the Justice accused of being part of terrorist organizations. The government destroyed drones in close flight to the world leaders in Buenos Aires. Other ships escaped. And there were even cyber attacks against websites linked to the summit. However, no operative could foresee what caused the greatest panic among the authorities.

It was almost eleven o'clock in the morning last Friday, the first day of the G20, when residents of Vicente López called 911 scared saying that there were "explosions" in the neighborhood. The first lady, Juliana Awada, was about to arrive in San Isidro, danger zone, then.

They also went there, to visit the magnificent mansion of the writer Victoria Ocampo, the female companions of the G20 leaders. Spent minutes that for officials were hours. The truth was innocuous and unusual. An earthquake measuring 3.8 on the ritcher scale, born at a depth of 25 kilometers, caused tremors in the northern suburbs of Buenos Aires and also in the south. It was at 10:27:38 a.m. The sum of all the fears had taken the minds of the authorities. There was no attack. Only nature.

Two years for two days. This could summarize the work of foreign and local spies, which aimed to curb potential attacks during the G20, the international event lasted 48 hours.

Since 2016, international and local spies work in Buenos Aires. The information disseminated in this note was checked between several sources of public agencies and the police and military forces involved in the maximum security operation in Argentine history. It happened of everything.

The work was coordinated with the Buenos Aires Ministry of Security. And with the Police of the City of Buenos Aires. Other preventive actions were carried out by the Ministry of Defense. In the Government it was feared that the main march against the G20 would end in excesses.

By collaboration of the social organizations that were mobilized last Friday, and by police work, there were arrested with Molotov and even with handies that can intercept the communications of the police. In the interior of the country and in Buenos Aires there were also protests. But minors and without violence.

The actions to prevent possible attacks had begun several months ago. Last February, for example, the European Police Office (Europol) reported that a terrorist group planned to attack the Cordoba shopping mall called the "Patio de Olmos". The place was evacuated. Now you know why.

Other alerts from abroad caused the Justice to detain several people allegedly linked to the most radical Islamic terrorism.

There were two prisoners for a complaint that indicated their relations with the terrorist group Hezbollah, which in Argentina is not considered as such by law.

Several months ago, the secret service of the United Kingdom, MI5, warned that two Argentines converted to Islam but with violent ideas, were tempted by the terrorist organization ISIS to attack with a bomb during the gay pride march that took place in Buenos Aires.

The supposed links of ISIS with the Argentines - always according to the Foreign Intelligence agencies and the Government - would have been carried out in the "deep web", a "parallel" Internet used to commit illegal actions. Another Security Agency of Spain and the Intelligence of Australia, agreed on the information.

Great Britain raised the alert on security for the inhabitants of that country who wanted to visit Argentina. The Ministry of Security of Patricia Bullrich acted. Justice stopped the two suspects. The United Kingdom then lowered the level of alert about our country.

Already during the G20 in activity, the spies and the police had to look not only at the streets. Also to heaven. It happens that drone flights were banned in several areas of the Federal Capital.

Even so, there were drones that flew. Official sources said that the Chinese delegation raised in flight one of those mini unmanned ships. The police discovered it: he warned that if the device did not land it would be destroyed by shots. The rhetoric worked.

Another drone flew on Friday afternoon on the Obelisk, just as the G20 leaders entered the gala at the Teatro Colón, in that area. The authorities checked if the ship was from a television channel. An Israeli technology was used to block its operation. Fell to the ground.

A day earlier, local spies discovered that another drone was flying over the airspace of the Faculty of Law, in La Recoleta. It was seen on a radar but not at first glance. They applied the Israeli blocker. The drone disappeared.

A poetry by Jorge Luis Borges, called "El Espía", alludes to the stormy life of secret agents.

Mention first the "heroes" who are usually remembered with the "marble" of the monuments, like the military.

And then he expands on the lamentations that afflict the men and women who work for the country under total confidentiality: by essence of their profession, their victories can never be officially recognized.
