The Lite model is having more users than users, according to internal sales data handled by Nintendo.

In statements granted to Fortune , Bowser explains that "we are seeing a higher percentage of consumers buying Nintendo Switch Lite than the main model. We see Lite as a great opportunity to expand our audience."
Bowser does not analyze the situation or make hypotheses about what is making this model, which gains portability but loses the hybrid capacity of the standard version, is more popular among the female audience.
"Our goal with Nintendo Switch Lite is first of all to reach a larger audience and to achieve this we have offered a device dedicated to play for those who are looking for that experience," says the executive.
Exclusively portable and smaller
The main difference of Nintendo Switch Lite with respect to the original model is that it has the integrated controls and is somewhat smaller than the original version of Switch, with a 5.5-inch screen compared to the 6.2 of the normal model. The screen resolution is 1280x720 (720p) resolution , same as the first Switch model.
It has no support and, as a device focused on portable gaming, cannot connect to the TV . Therefore, it does not include neither HDMI base nor cable.
Another important difference is that it has a traditional cross-directional d-pad , unlike the original Switch that in the left Joy-Con had four buttons, something that has been quite criticized for certain types of games.
