With the lockdown of last spring, this software has become one of the best programs to stay connected with our friends and loved ones. And now, with the rise of telecommuting, and facing a possible new confinement, Microsoft has decided to take Skype group calls to a new level.
Until today, this program allowed us to make group calls of up to 50 people. Taking into account that Skype can be used completely free of charge and without limitations, in addition to other programs designed for a more business use, such as Teams, the limit of 50 people was not bad. However, with the latest update of this program, the company has decided to increase the maximum number of participants in these calls. Specifically, duplicate it.
Up to 100 participants in the same call
Starting today, users who have the Preview version of this program installed will be able to create group calls of up to 100 participants at the same time. This new feature is available to both normal users and those who use Skype in business and even in the education sector.
This new limit applies to all platforms, so we can use it both from the desktop and from the web and even from mobile platforms such as Android or iOS. For all. The only thing we will need is a Microsoft Account, and have the preview version of the program. Soon the limit of 100 people will reach all other users.
In addition, the latest version of Skype brought with it a series of improvements that add to this increase in the limit of users of calls:
- New messages are not pinned on top of recent messages.
- The language of the settings is automatically set to English.
- Fixed a login error on Android.
- Fixed problems when uploading files, and with the Windows favorite contact list.
