New year, new projects that will come and hopefully it will be a year with lots of good news for Linux and free software in general.
Now let's start with a list of the most famous videogames that promise a lot and that will appear in this 2019 for our GNU / Linux distributions. As I say, they are not any title, they are very interesting video games that we are going to see as they appear throughout the year ...
The list is quite broad, and as you can see, these are not little-known titles or of poor quality, but Linux is getting stronger and stronger in the world of video games. We already commented that it ended 2018 with more than 5000 titles with support for our favorite system, and will continue to increase ... Well here goes the list with the developer and the genre:
- Xenosis: Alien Infection NerdRage Studios (science fiction adventure / survival with retro inspiration)
- Jon Shafer's At the Gates Conifer Games (indie strategy game from the hand of the designer of Civilization 5)
- Tropico 6 Limbic Entertainment (managing your own island)
- Stoneshard Ink Stains Games (is a turn-based RPG set in a medieval world)
- Beyond Blue E-Line Media (based on the future, is a game of mysteries and first-person exploration)
- Voxel Tycoon Voxel Tycoon (another strategy game but oriented to transport)
- Eastshade Eastshade Studios (we already talked about it, with excellent design and great graphics that you can explore)
- The First Men Pera Games (another real-time strategy video game based on a fantasy world)
- Godhood Abbey Games (old school management game with religious overtones ...)
- Imperator: Rome Paradox Development Studio (classic real-time strategy on imperial Rome)
- Starmancer Ominux Games (video game where to build a space station after a catastrophe of humanity)
- Monster Crown Studio Aurum (retro game where to have your monsters ...)
- Jupiter Hell ChaosForge (is a videogame based on roguelike turns with a sci-fi story)
- We Happy Few Compulsion Games (a game with a careful design in which you will live an intriguing story in the Inglraterra of the 60s of which we have also spoken in LxA).
- Life is Strange 2 Feral Interactive Linux port (new version of this video game that we have also talked about)
- Serious Sam 4: Planet Badass Croteam (a great shooter that you will love)
- Mosaic Krillbite Studio (3D adventure with 2D puzzles)
- DiRT 4 Feral Interactive Linux port (we've already talked, so little to say about this racing simulator)
- Pathway Robotality (turn-based strategy adventure for lovers of this kind of genre)
- Shadow of the Tomb Raider Feral Interactive Linux port (you know, Lara Croft will continue her adventures in Linux ...)
- KURSK Jujubee S.A. (adventure and video-documentary inspired by the real world of the tragedy of the Russian submarine KURSK)
- Off Grid Semaeopus (3rd person videogame where you can fight with hackable weapons)
- Total War: THREE KINGDOMS Feral Interactive Linux port (based on turns, is a strategy game set in past ages, with legendary heroes and lost kingdoms)
- Overland Finji (it's a video game of survival and post-apocalyptic strategy)
- Hellpoint Cradle Games (another very interesting sci-fi RPG)
- Barotrauma Undertow Games, FakeFish (2D exploration)
- Psychonauts 2 Double Fine Productions (another title about a wonderful 3D adventure with amazing people)
- Insurgency: Sandstorm New World Interactive (FPS based on team time to have fun fighting)
- Indivisible Lab Zero Games (RPG with a lot of action in a fantastic world that will captivate you)
- System Shock Nightdive Studios (re-release of this first-person shooter title)
- In The Valley of Gods Valve (may not come in 2019 if delayed, but it's a fantastic 3D adventure to explore ancient ruins, treasures, etc., like a true archaeologist)
